PSDA & Water Rescue has been training public safety divers and water rescue
members since 1980. PSDA & Water Rescue was originally the public safety division
of IDEA. |
|
|
|
PSDA & Water Rescue is now a completely separate organization and specilizes
only in the training of public safety divers and water rescue professionals. PSDA
& Water Rescue is an autonomous division of IDEA SCUBA Inc. PSDA & WR directors
recognized the need for a separate public safety dedicated association. Quality
public safety training requires specialized training and complete separation from
sport diving and technical SCUBA training. PSDA & Water Rescue is a 100% dedicated
public safety organization. Even though PSDA & WR and IDEA are completely separate
corporations, PSDA & WR is able to cooperate on a special business level with
IDEA SCUBA Inc., their affiliates, World Wide Scuba Inc. and IDEA supply affiliates. |

|
IDEA is a charter member of the RSTC, WRSTC and DEMA. IDEA is the fourth largest
SCUBA training agency world wide. |

|
IDEA was established in 1952 as the training committee for the Florida Skin Divers
Association Inc. In 1976 the committee was reformed as the International Diving
Educators Association(IDEA). |
|
|
|
IDEA is the oldest established SCUBA training agency in the world. The first SCUBA
training programs were conducted in 1948 in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. FSDA
is still active and headquartered in the Tampa Bay area.
